You have heard the saying that the plumber's pipes leak and the mechanic's car doesn't work. Well, this is one painter who is going to break that mold!
We have decided to build 2 Shop Promo Bikes. One for me, and one for my wife, Diana.
Of course, my bike is going under the saws all first!
OK folks . . . Here it goes. This will be the 5th motorcycle I have build from the ground up. This bike is going to start off from my 93 FXR. I know, I know, who in the hell would cut up an FXR chassis? I have ridden this bike to Sturgis twice now. And it is time for a complete overhaul. I am planning on raking and stretching the frame while putting the oil tank in the top tube. This will allow me to run the rear cylinder out the left side of the bike. I am also using a large diameter 2.5 in tube for a single down tube. The Rake will be about 38 and the stretch will be around 4-6 and I will be running an inverted front end. All the sheetmetal will be hand made by myself and Norm Cox down at 10th Street Body. Roger Bourget's frame team will be assisting me with the frame chores. I will also be modifying one of Jesse Jurrens air-ride suspensions for the rear. I will be hand making the tank from scratch as well. The bottom line here is, I will build this and ride it to Sturgis next year with my wife. So the challenge is to make a rack that detaches and is completely invisible where it mounts. I will be taking pics of progress!
